Historically, the excessive costs of producing omega-3 in triglyceride form was not worth the added benefit of slightly better absorption. Additionally, the vast majority of omega-3 related scientific literature is based on omega-3 in ethyl ester form which is the foundation for formulating our products. However, as new science emerged showing increased absorption levels coupled with improvements in the manufacturing process, we at CardioTabs decided it was time to transition.
Within the next several weeks, your favorite omega-3 products, Omega-3 Extra Strength + Vitamin D3 and Omega-3 Enteric-Coated, will be in triglyceride form with slightly revised EPA and DHA concentrations. Omega-3 Extra Strength + Vitamin D3 will now feature a balanced ratio of 600 mg EPA and 600 mg DHA per serving while Omega-3 Enteric-Coated will continue featuring a 2:1 DHA:EPA ratio. The exact amounts have changed slightly to 675 mg DHA and 325 mg EPA per serving. Both products overall concentration is nearly identical to their current concentrations.
