Green Beans with Lemon Zest

Green Beans with Lemon ZestThis green bean recipe can be made for an easy, healthy snack, appetizer, or side dish. Green beans are low in calories and contain vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate, and vitamin K.
Personally, I love green beans because they’re so easy they are to make! They also taste good on their own or with a little bit of salt.
Ingredients:
  • - 2 lbs green beans, ends trimmed
  • - 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • - 3 tablespoons butter
  • - 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • - 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • - 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • - Salt and black pepper
Instructions:
Boil salted water in a large pot. Then, place green beans in the boiling water for 2 minutes, until they turn bright green. Drain and rinse them in cold water. Next, oil and butter a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauteing it for about 30 seconds. Then, add the green beans and mix it for about 5 minutes. Lastly, add lemon zest, salt and pepper.
