Recipe Ideas and Serving Suggestions for CardioWhey

The following are easy to prepare and great serving suggestions for CardioWhey. Remember, both CardioWhey Natural and chocolate flavor can simply be mixed with 8oz of lowfat milk or soymilk or water.

This recipe is from Glenna Moe, M.S., R.D. Glenna is a nutrition consultant and dietician in Kansas City.

Glenna's Oatmeal
1/4 cup extra thick rolled oats (Bob's Red Mill is a good choice. Do not substitute quick cooking oatmeal.)
1/8 cup Hodgson Mill Oat Bran Hot Cereal
1 teaspoon Hodgson Mill Milled Flax Seed
1/2 cup blueberries (May substitute 2 Tbs. any dried fruit or 1/2 cup other fruit)
1 cup water
1 1/2 Tbs. Whey Protein Isolate
1/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
2-3 tsp. Honey (or Splenda or Stevia Plus)
2 Tbs. Chopped Almonds (optional)

Combine oats, oat bran, flax seed, fruit, whey protein, cinnamon and water. Bring to boil. Lower heat and stir until desired thickness is reached. This can be eaten when it is barely cooked or can be eaten after it has cooked for a long time. This is up to your taste preference. Add toppings before eating. (I usually make 5 servings at a time. I pour individual servings into plastic containers and refrigerate. These can then be microwaved for a quick, very healthy breakfast. Do not add toppings to the cereal until after reheating.)

All of the above ingredients may be increased or decreased to adjust for taste preferences. Other WHOLE GRAIN cereals may be prepared in the same manner for variety. You may also enjoy adding skim milk, soymilk or fat free cream.
